About this role

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Midwife for our Hudson Valley Medical Group. Midwives are a cornerstone for women through all phases of their lives, providing a supportive, compassionate environment for all phases of ante- through postpartum care.

Our midwives provide prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic care for women, including underserved populations. You will act as a vital resource for women and families throughout their entire lifespan, practicing full scope care as an independent provider while collaborating with physicians to meet the needs of more high-risk patients.

Whether seeing patients in the office or taking call on Labor and Delivery, you will foster a culture of empathy, collaborative decision making, and empowerment for women. This role requires a 12-hour shift minimum per week, with hours and days varying including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in clinical specialty and certification in that specialty
  • Current NYS Midwifery License
  • BLS through the AHA
  • 2+ years of midwifery experience preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • NRP certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic care for women
  • Act as a vital resource for women and families throughout their entire lifespan
  • Deliver full scope care as an independent provider in clinical office settings
  • Take call on Labor and Delivery, collaborating with physicians for high-risk patients
  • Foster a culture of empathy, collaborative decision making, and empowerment for women
  • Serve underserved populations as part of the Hudson Valley Medical Group team
  • Maintain a per diem schedule with one 12-hour shift minimum per week, including weekends and holidays
