Advancia Aeronautics is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife for a short-term contract supporting the Department of Defense at U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa, its Associated Branch Health Clinics, and the U.S. Naval Dental Center Okinawa in Okinawa, Japan. In this role, you will provide comprehensive primary care to women from menarche through menopause, managing prenatal, postpartum, well woman gynecologic, family planning, and pre-conceptual care. You will also manage antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, including normal spontaneous deliveries, and participate in the care of women with medical complications.
You will work as part of a collaborative healthcare team, consulting and referring with Obstetricians-Gynecologists as needed. This position provides valuable experience in an international setting, allowing you to accelerate healthcare delivery and enhance health readiness for military and federal communities around the world. You will provide high-quality medical care to active-duty service members, their families, eligible DoD civilian employees, and other authorized beneficiaries.
Requirements
- Must possess a Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Must be a graduate from a certified nurse midwife education program accredited by the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM).
- Must possess certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
- Must hold a full, current, valid, unrestricted license (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions) in a State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia that abides by the State requirements of the location of performance.
- Must possess current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform a broad range of duties as a Certified Nurse Midwife in accordance with commercial best practices, local, federal, and agency-wide guidance.
- Provide comprehensive primary care to women from menarche through menopause, including prenatal, postpartum, well woman gynecologic, family planning, and pre-conceptual care.
- Participate in the care of women with medical complications, consulting and collaborating with Obstetricians-Gynecologists as needed.
- Manage the care of normal antepartum women, including teaching, counseling, and support.
- Take health histories, perform and record obstetrical physical evaluations, and collect, document, and evaluate patient data.
- Manage antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, including managing and controlling normal spontaneous deliveries and recording labor and delivery.
- Maintain all required patient records and report pertinent information.
- Prescribe medications as required in accordance with MTF privileges.
