As a General Midwife in the outpatient setting, you will deliver comprehensive midwifery care for women, pregnant mothers, laboring and postpartum patients, newborns, and reproductive health clients in accordance with hospital standards and regulations.

In your daily work, you will receive and identify patients, conduct initial assessments to determine midwifery diagnoses and risks, and establish individualized care plans. You will monitor pregnancy, labor, delivery, and newborn adaptation, promptly reporting any abnormalities to the responsible physician.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth clinical services by assisting physicians during examinations and deliveries. You will also oversee the readiness of medical equipment and supplies for maternal and neonatal care.

Engage in comprehensive health education and counseling for patients and families on topics like childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, and family planning. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, data collection, and reporting to support hospital-wide performance targets.

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma IV (D4) in Midwifery or Bachelor of Midwifery (S1 Kebidanan) with Midwife Professional Program (Profesi Bidan).
  • Possess an active Lifetime Registration Certificate (STR) as a Midwife.
  • Certification in Normal Delivery Care (Asuhan Persalinan Normal/APN) will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to analyze integrated information from assessments and diagnostic results to plan and implement midwifery interventions independently and collaboratively.
  • Competence in periodic reassessment based on patient condition changes and in documenting significant developments.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement and patient safety practices in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive midwifery care for women, pregnant mothers, mothers in labor, postpartum mothers, newborns, and reproductive health patients in line with hospital service standards and clinical guidelines.
  • Receive and identify patients to ensure patient safety and continuity of care per established service standards.
  • Conduct initial assessments of maternal and neonatal patients to determine midwifery diagnoses, identify risks and priorities, and establish individualized care plans independently and collaboratively.
  • Monitor pregnancy, labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn adaptation, and promptly report abnormalities or emergencies to the responsible physician.
  • Ensure the availability, readiness, and completeness of medical equipment, supplies, and medications required for maternal and neonatal care.
  • Carry out comprehensive health education and counseling activities for patients and families regarding pregnancy, childbirth preparation, postpartum care, breastfeeding, newborn care, family planning, and reproductive health.
  • Perform complete, accurate, and timely documentation of patient care activities to maintain medical records and support treatment planning.
  • Implement quality improvement and patient safety procedures, including participation in training programs, audits, and data collection to support hospital-wide quality indicators.
