Registered Midwife - Graduate Program

Cabrini Health

Malvern, AU · Part-time

About this role

Applications are now open for Cabrini Health’s 2027 intake for the Registered Midwife Graduate Program. These ongoing positions allow graduates to begin their midwifery careers with structured support. The 12-month program is designed to shape participants into skilled midwives through focused clinical exposure.

Graduate midwives work directly with mothers and newborns during their first days together. They receive one-on-one support from clinical midwifery educators while building foundational care skills. Preceptors are assigned to foster knowledge integration into the multidisciplinary team.

Double degree participants complete an initial rotation in a medical or surgical ward. Dedicated clinical educators and ward-based preceptors provide guidance during the transition to practice. Ongoing check-ins from nurse managers and educators continue throughout the program.

Cabrini offers professional development opportunities beyond the graduate year through ongoing contracts. The program includes interactive study days, career guidance, and debrief sessions. Salaries are matched to public hospitals with access to post-graduate study options.
