About this role

Lead and collaborate with the wider senior leadership team to support primary care in a tertiary environment. Provide an antenatal and postnatal midwifery service to persons accessing the outreach, including caseload team/s model when needed. This 1 FTE fixed-term position runs 40 hours a week until June 2025.

Support the provision of an outreach service meeting whanau needs by monitoring clinical outcomes, satisfaction, and standards. Coordinate resources including staff and equipment to address identified needs. Monitor communication and documentation standards while notifying managers of concerns like disciplinary or practice issues.

Provide clinical and professional leadership in Otepoti Dunedin Maternity. Ensure discharge planning and handover to well child providers are robust and timely. Demonstrate understanding of consumables, assist in identifying variances, and manage quality and risk programmes.

Ensure the service is appropriately staffed with best practice human resource standards met. This project-based role offers an excellent opportunity to coordinate outreach services. Join Te Whatu Ora Southern with salary band $83,000 - $115,000 per annum plus Kiwisaver.

Requirements

  • NZ Registered Midwife with current APC
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification
  • Experience in antenatal and postnatal midwifery services
  • Knowledge of caseload team model
  • Ability to support primary care in tertiary environment
  • Clinical leadership skills
