About this role

The School of Nursing and Midwifery at Griffith University seeks a Level B Lecturer in a teaching focused role. The position involves delivering midwifery education within programs that uphold a woman-centred framework and promote continuity of care.

You will undertake teaching, course coordination and curriculum development while contributing to learning and teaching research or scholarship. Clinical midwifery expertise and tertiary teaching experience are essential for success in this continuing role.

This full-time position is primarily based at the Logan campus with potential work across other Griffith locations. The role supports supervision of Honours and research higher degree students where eligible.

Requirements

  • Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA) as a registered midwife
  • Minimum of a Masters qualification in midwifery or equivalent
  • Previous midwifery teaching experience in the tertiary sector
  • Ahpra endorsement for scheduled medication for midwives (highly desirable)
  • Completion of or enrolment in doctoral level program in midwifery or relevant field (desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Undertake teaching, course coordination and curriculum development in midwifery programs
  • Conduct learning and teaching research or scholarship activities
  • Supervise Honours and research higher degree students where eligible
  • Contribute to midwifery programs that uphold woman-centred values and continuity of care
  • Apply demonstrated clinical midwifery expertise within the teaching focused role
