About this role

Treating women and newborns with the care and dignity befitting them is an important aspect of this Nurse Midwife role at Legacy Health. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing family-centered patient care in a healthcare community dedicated to making life better for others.

You will practice the full scope of midwifery, providing antepartum, post-partum, family-planning and well-woman gynecological care independently and with consultation for low, moderate and high risk women. Your practice includes full participation in outpatient care, guided by established protocols.

You will function in collaborative relationships with consulting physicians as clinically indicated, and participate in the daily functions and staff rotations directed by the Midwifery Services Program Director. You will also follow all organizational, regulatory and human resource policies as established by Legacy Portland Hospitals.

This position initially covers a 16-week leave of absence working 40 hours per week, with shifts available on an as-needed basis afterward. Legacy Health is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where you can grow and succeed while making a difference in the lives of women and newborns.

Requirements

  • Current applicable state license as a Registered Nurse / Nurse Midwife / Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Privileges (NP-PP) required.
  • National Certification as a Nurse Midwife (MW) required.
  • Current BLS for Provider Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Active member in good standing of Hospital Medical Staff.
  • Full scope women’s healthcare and midwifery experience preferred.
  • Ability to conduct research.
  • Demonstrated competency in clinical care, appropriate to the ages of patients served.
