About this role
The Professional Nurse delivers safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team according to Scope of Practice regulations. They lead and coordinate nursing teams to enable optimal patient care at Mediclinic Stellenbosch.
Daily work includes identifying, preventing and managing risks to ensure patient safety while facilitating a positive client experience. Accurate records of all nursing interventions are maintained and stock and equipment are correctly charted.
The role operates on-site in a permanent capacity within a maternity care environment. A learning culture is fostered that builds staff competence through structured support and development opportunities.
Preference is given in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa. Internal fixed-term contract employees must apply via an external candidate profile.
Requirements
- Diploma leading to registration as a General Nurse or 4-year Nursing Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing
- Basic life support trained (ACLS, ATLS, PALS for specialised wards)
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Develop and modify a nursing care plan
- Infection prevention and control
- Nursing processes and procedures
- Nursing record keeping
- Patient assessment skills and pharmacology knowledge
