The appointee provides services as assigned in furtherance of the university's missions of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. This role delivers care in the Nurse-Midwifery Marquam Hill practice with up to 1433.6 clinical hours annually, working both inpatient and ambulatory settings.

The Certified Nurse-Midwife covers 85.6 12.5-hour inpatient shifts and 70.1 4-hour clinic sessions for a 0.8 cFTE, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The practice involves triage, consults, and first assist at cesarean section, with scheduling aligned to contract provisions and equitable coverage.

Faculty activities include participation in OB/GYN Nurse-Midwifery Grand Rounds, Nurse-Midwifery Program activities, and faculty governance. The appointee supports the clinical, education, and research mission by working with students, trainees, and patients in research consistent with their role and scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Current Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
  • Master's degree in Nursing or equivalent advanced practice nursing preparation
  • Ability to work inpatient shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Experience in triage, consults, and first assist at cesarean section
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care and equity, inclusion, and social justice
  • Eligibility for clinical faculty appointment at OHSU School of Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the ambulatory OHSU Center for Women’s Health and inpatient 12C Labor & Delivery
  • Cover inpatient shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Perform triage, consults, and first assist at cesarean section
  • Provide ambulatory coverage during daytime hours
  • Participate in departmental and division meetings
  • Engage in faculty activities such as OB/GYN Nurse-Midwifery Grand Rounds
  • Participate in Nurse-Midwifery Program activities and faculty governance
  • Support clinical education by working with students and trainees
