About this role

The appointee shall provide services as assigned in furtherance of OHSU's missions of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. This role delivers care aligned with a defined scope of practice in the Nurse-Midwifery Marquam Hill practice.

Clinical activities include direct patient care in the ambulatory OHSU Center for Women's Health and inpatient 12C Labor & Delivery. The hybrid practice requires inpatient coverage of days, nights, weekends, and holidays, including triage, consults, and first assist at cesarean section.

Requirements

  • Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
  • Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of Oregon.
  • Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or higher (DNP or PhD).
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications.
  • Clinical experience in full-scope midwifery care across the care continuum.
  • Ability to provide first assist at cesarean sections.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for the patient population in the ambulatory OHSU Center for Women's Health and inpatient 12C Labor & Delivery.
  • Cover inpatient shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, performing triage, consults, and first assist at cesarean section.
  • Manage ambulatory daytime clinic sessions as part of the hybrid practice model.
  • Participate in departmental and division meetings as indirect clinical activities.
  • Engage in faculty pursuits including OB/GYN Nurse-Midwifery Grand Rounds and Nurse-Midwifery Program activities.
  • Contribute to faculty governance with additional engagement based on rank.
  • Support the clinical, education, and research mission of OHSU by working with students, trainees, and patients participating in research.
