About this role

The Nurse Midwife provides care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Accountable for delivery of advanced practice nursing care in collaboration with perinatologists, OB/GYN, and Family Practice physicians. Utilizes standards, protocols, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the organization.

Provide primary care in an ambulatory setting to women including ordering of diagnostic tests and management of minor complications. Deliver inpatient obstetrical care for essentially healthy women including labor management and delivery of infant. Perform repair of lacerations/episiotomy and management of minor complications.

This position works both clinic and hospital, primarily day shift with scheduled on-call hours in a busy practice. Functioning in the spirit of teamwork.

Requirements

  • Masters required in Science, Nursing or specialty field
  • Graduate of Advanced Practitioner Program
  • Current License as RN in Ohio
  • Certified as Advanced Practice Nurse Midwife
  • Holds current Certificate of Authority (COA) from the Ohio Board of Nursing
  • Hold current certificate to prescribe (CTP) or eligible for CTP-E from the Ohio Board of Nursing
  • BLS provider certification
  • DEA license
  • Experienced Midwife

Responsibilities

  • Provide care sensitive to physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs
  • Deliver advanced practice nursing care in collaboration with perinatologists, OB/GYN, and Family Practice physicians
  • Provide primary care in ambulatory setting to women including ordering diagnostic tests
  • Manage minor complications in ambulatory and inpatient settings
  • Provide inpatient obstetrical care for essentially healthy women including labor management
  • Deliver infant and perform repair of lacerations/episiotomy
  • Work both clinic and hospital primarily day shift with scheduled on-call hours
