About this role
This is a unique opportunity for a Clinical Educator in Nursing and/or Midwifery to join Southern Queensland Rural Health in Charleville. The role focuses on making a real and positive difference to the education of students as future health professionals and supporting regional healthcare in Queensland.
As a Clinical Educator you will support effective high quality rural training experiences for pre-registration nursing and midwifery students across rural and remote South West Queensland. This involves supporting supervision during clinical placements and facilitating interprofessional learning opportunities.
The position includes a 0.5 FTE secondment to Charleville Western Areas Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Community Health. There you will deliver mentoring training and clinical leadership to Health Workers while ensuring high quality care for CWAATSICH clients.
We encourage applications from across Queensland and Australia. The fixed-term role runs through to 31 December 2027 with the usual discussions on continuation prior to the end date based on current funding.
Requirements
- Current registration as a Nurse and/or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Demonstrated experience in clinical education or student supervision in nursing or midwifery
- Experience working in rural or remote health settings
- Ability to provide mentoring and training to clinical staff and health workers
- Strong understanding of interprofessional learning and rural clinical placement models
Responsibilities
- Support effective high quality rural training experiences for pre-registration nursing and midwifery students across rural and remote South West Queensland
- Support the supervision of students during rural clinical placements

- Enhance support and education to both students and clinical supervisors
- Provide mentoring training and support to ensure high quality clinical care to CWAATSICH clients
- Provide clinical leadership and training experiences to CWAATSICH Health Workers
