Midwife

NorWest Community Health Centres, a community-based non-profit funded by Ontario Health, seeks 1 FTE permanent Midwife for the Thunder Bay site with services at Longlac, Armstrong, and Kakabeka. Provide midwifery within scope of practice as part of the team. Emphasize disease prevention, health promotion, education, and community partnerships.

Deliver low-risk and complex prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care for clients and babies, including expanded scope like performing NSTs, managing GDM, epidurals, oxytocin augmentation, and induction. Practice compassionate, respectful, non-judgmental, culturally sensitive care in an informed choice model. Focus on high-needs populations facing barriers to care.

Join the network of community health centres prioritizing access to primary health care. Work without on-call in a new employee model at NorWest CHCs. Demonstrate awareness of socio-economic, cultural issues, and sensitivity to groups like homeless, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomers.

Access salary range of $115,424 to $135,796 per year, Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan, and excellent group health benefits. Engage in program development, leadership, and potential expansion to contraceptive care, IUD insertion, fertility treatments. Obtain privileges at TBRHSC and use EMR, BORN systems.
