About this role
The Maternal Fetal Medicine Ultrasound Technologist performs technical procedures using ultrasound equipment to visualize portions of the human body for diagnostic purposes. This supports obstetrical and gynecologic physicians in determining various diagnoses. They work with patient populations including geriatric, adult, adolescent, child, infant, and newborn ages, assisting in high-risk situations.
Daily responsibilities include performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures from Monday to Friday, 8a-5p. Technologists adjust ultrasound equipment, process images, and update patient records to ensure accurate diagnoses and treatment. They maintain records while respecting confidentiality and integrating performance improvement processes.
Team functioning is key, with effective collaboration in a compassionate care environment at Franciscan Health, a large Catholic health system across Indiana and Illinois. Staff observe Universal Precautions, Infection Control, and Safety, while managing the environment and equipment responsibly. They assist with high-risk patient situations across diverse age groups.

Requirements
- Certificate in Ultrasound Technology
- High School Diploma/GED
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) from American Heart Association
- Registered Ultrasonographer (ARDMS) with Maternal Fetal Medicine Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
