About this role
Maven is the world's largest virtual clinic for women and families, on a mission to make healthcare work for all. We are seeking a mission-driven, empathetic International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) based in Japan, Hong Kong, or Australia who is fluent in Japanese to support our members through virtual care services.
As a Maven provider, you will connect with members across the globe via 20-minute video consults and asynchronous messaging. Your day-to-day involves supporting breastfeeding basics, establishing a good latch, positional corrections, pumping, and providing resources and actionable steps for diverse families.
You will join a curated provider network encompassing 30+ specialties and 350+ subspecialties, dedicated to delivering holistic, high-value care. Collaborate with Maven's Care Delivery team to ensure member needs are met, including recommendations for in-person referrals and follow-ups.
This part-time independent contractor role offers the flexibility to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care from home while scaling impact across 175+ countries. You will serve as an ambassador of Maven's unique care model, providing culturally humble care and championing better outcomes for women and families.
Requirements
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certified through the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners, in good standing
- Experience supporting breastfeeding and infant feeding for diverse families
- Currently residing in Japan, Singapore, or Australia
- Fluent in Japanese and English (written and verbal)
- No history of medical malpractice, disciplinary action, or loss/restriction of professional practice privileges
- Able to provide 2 hours of member care per week; this is a part-time, independent contractor role
- Comfortable delivering care through a digital health platform (prior telehealth experience preferred)
- Passionate about improving outcomes for women, infants, and families
Responsibilities
- Provide virtual care and support to adult members via 20-minute video consults and asynchronous messaging around breastfeeding basics, latch, positional corrections, pumping, and feeding options
- Capture encounter summary documentation in Maven's practice management system, MPractice
- Collaborate with Maven's Care Delivery team to ensure member needs are met, including recommendations for in-person referrals and follow-ups
- Serve as an ambassador of Maven's unique care model, providing culturally humble care and championing better outcomes for women and families
- Support diverse families with breastfeeding and infant feeding challenges using evidence-based practices
- Deliver compassionate, culturally sensitive care through a digital health platform
