Help deliver exceptional and equitable care in the largest safety net hospital in New England.

Support breastfeeding for patients in a diverse population within our safety net hospital. Partner with the current IBCLC to assist patients in antepartum and the Mother Baby Unit. Provide lactation consultations to best support new mothers and infants.

Requirements

  • Certified Lactation Consultant - IBCLC
  • Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts
  • Current basic cardiac life support (BLS) certification
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred)
  • Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
  • Basic computer proficiency to access and interpret data
  • Effective interpersonal skills for communication with team, patients, families
  • Organizational skills to set priorities and delegate patient care activities

Responsibilities

  • Support breastfeeding patients on the Mother Baby Unit
  • Partner with current IBCLC to develop lactation programs
  • Assist antepartum patients with breastfeeding support
  • Improve patient education on lactation and maternity care
  • Enhance health outcomes through evidence-based lactation consultations
  • Conduct breastfeeding assessments and provide consultations
  • Manage lactation challenges in diverse patient populations
  • Collaborate on quality improvement projects for maternity care
