About this role

This is a unique opportunity for a Clinical Educator in Nursing and/or Midwifery to join Southern Queensland Rural Health in Charleville. The role supports the education of future health professionals while strengthening regional healthcare delivery across rural Queensland.

As Clinical Educator you will support effective high-quality rural training experiences for pre-registration nursing and midwifery students. Duties include supervising students on clinical placements and facilitating interprofessional learning opportunities throughout South West Queensland.

Half of the position is seconded to Charleville Western Areas Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health. In this component you will deliver mentoring training and clinical leadership to CWAATSICH Health Workers and clients.

The fixed-term appointment runs through 31 December 2027 and is based in Charleville. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for this regionally focused educator role.

Requirements

  • Current registration as a nurse or midwife
  • Experience supervising students in clinical settings
  • Ability to facilitate interprofessional learning
  • Capacity to provide clinical leadership and mentoring

Responsibilities

  • Support effective high-quality rural training experiences for pre-registration nursing and midwifery students
  • Supervise students during rural clinical placements across South West Queensland
  • Facilitate interprofessional learning opportunities during student placements
  • Enhance support and education for students and clinical supervisors
  • Provide mentoring training and support to ensure high-quality clinical care at CWAATSICH
  • Deliver clinical leadership and training experiences to CWAATSICH Health Workers
