About this role

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics is currently seeking an IBCLC - Registered Nurse for our Parent and Baby Care Center. This .6 FTE role involves 48 hours bi-weekly over 8-hour day shifts and is benefit eligible. The center provides comprehensive services supporting parents and babies in their first months.

The focus is on postpartum and newborn care with support services including postpartum follow-up exams, lactation help, classes, private consultations, and telephone counseling as needed. Nurses deliver hands-on care to new mothers and infants, promoting healthy beginnings through specialized maternity services.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing required (BSN preferred)
  • Current WA state RN license required or Multistate RN license
  • Healthcare provider CPR required
  • Mother Baby Unit experience required
  • IBCLC certification strongly preferred, and required within 18 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide postpartum care to new mothers
  • Deliver newborn care and assessments
  • Offer lactation support and breastfeeding assistance
  • Conduct postpartum follow-up exams
  • Facilitate classes for new parents
  • Perform private consultations on maternity needs
  • Provide telephone counseling as needed
