Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Associate Midwifery Unit Manager (preferably in a tertiary centre)
  • Level 3 RANZCOG practitioner status
  • Competence to Perform IV Cannulation, Balloon Catheter Insertion for Induction of Labour, Waterbirth and Perineal Suturing (or working towards)
  • Knowledge of managing high risk, complicated pregnancies and birth
  • Skills and desire to facilitate physiological birth where possible
  • Current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check
  • Proof of current vaccination status consistent with public health orders

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Unit Manager to lead a talented team of midwives
  • Deliver holistic, patient-centred care in the Birthing Services Unit
  • Apply skills in multi-tasking and problem solving
  • Manage high risk, complicated pregnancies and births
  • Facilitate physiological birth where possible
  • Oversee daily operations in a tertiary maternity centre
  • Support waterbirths, perineal suturing, and labour inductions
