About this role

The Senior Operations & Placement Officer plays a key role in supporting innovative nursing and midwifery programs and student placement experiences at The University of Western Australia. This ongoing full-time position coordinates placements while contributing to departmental operations and governance activities.

Day-to-day work involves coordinating professional experience placements and liaising with students, academic staff, and external healthcare providers. The role also delivers high-level administrative support including stakeholder engagement and accreditation activities within the Department of Nursing & Midwifery.

College Services provides operational and administrative support to UWA’s Schools, enabling teaching, research, and student success. The Schools Operations team works closely with the Department to ensure smooth coordination of placements and continuous improvement of systems and processes.

This position offers the opportunity to build strong partnerships with healthcare providers while contributing to accreditation and governance. Employment checks will include information on gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and related misconduct.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, with substantial administrative experience in a complex environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage competing deadlines, and work with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, use initiative, and contribute effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency in digital systems and applications; experience with student placement systems such as SONIA is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer professional experience placements, liaising with students, academic staff, and external healthcare providers.

  • Play a key role in supporting innovative nursing and midwifery programs and student placement experiences.

Benefits

  • Base salary range: $95,231–$100,643 p.a. plus 17% superannuation
  • Full-time appointment on an ongoing basis
