Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Washington State
  • Successful completion of an American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM)-accredited nurse-midwifery program
  • Current active certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board
  • Two years of experience in OB/GYN
  • Clinical experience in obstetrics, gynecology, or women’s health
  • DEA, NPI & Prescriptive authority
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Provide prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to women and their newborns
  • Conduct routine gynecological exams, including Pap smears and breast exams
  • Offer family planning services and contraceptive counseling
  • Assist with labor and delivery, including natural and medically assisted births
  • Monitor the health of mother and baby during and after childbirth
  • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as needed
  • Collaborate with OB-GYNs, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals
  • Educate patients on reproductive health, childbirth preparation, and newborn care
